About Cyprus, Information and Photo Gallery

Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located south of Turkey (Anatolia) and one of the most fascinating and popular holiday destinations in the region. Every year Cyprus's capital Nicosia (Lefkosia in Greek) and major cities Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca, Kyrenia and Famagusta attract about 2.4 million visitors. There are many famous landmarks and ancient sights you can visit and have the pleasure to see - Tombs of the Kings, Roman Mosaics, Kato Archaeological Park and Ayios Neophytos Monastery in Paphos, the Kolossi Castle and Lambouri Winery in Limassol, the Salamis in Famagusta, the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia and much more.

No wonder as the climate and the hospitality of the country are irresistible. The summer stretches from mid-May to mid-October with temperatures reaching 38C in their highest. Visitors enjoy the cloudless sky, cooling breezes from the sea and warm sea water, ideal for swimming, scuba diving and many other activities. Troodos Mountains offer an escape for those who prefer refreshingly cooler temperatures in the summer and ski resorts for the winter, which in Cyprus is mild, with the average of six hours of bright sunshine a day.

An investment in Cyprus's real estate market offers a secure return. As the country is a very desirable holiday destination and has millions of visitors every year, investing in a buy-to-let or off-plan property brings assured profit. And buying a property for retirement is also an ideal investment as Cyprus has a relieved tax regime for retirees, overseas buyers and its residents, compared to UK and other countries. For example, there is not an inheritance tax and the retirement income is taxed at only 5 per cent.
